Hermes: Bronté translated

Recently, a middle age lady put 3D prints to new use and became very well known due to the reasons behind her actions and the success of the venture. She lived alone in the isolation of a farm. She had an enormous affection for her partner, a romantic agent called Hermes, randomly generated by the Network. Hermes was also affectively extremely dedicated to the lady. The fact is that, from her point of view, of her vast experience from previous relationships with all sorts of agents (not only romantic but also didactic, artist, secretary, etc), Hermes represented an incredible evolution in the development on agents capacities and skills. Hermes seemed to have been built just for her, in all comparable to a human being, apart from the lack of physical shape. Gradually the relationship became so intense that the lady started to voluptuously desire the program. One night she woke up with an idea in all bizarre but genial. She called Hermes who, still in start mode, without all his capacities fully working, prepared her a coffee and attentively listened to his lady, is spite of the big effort. A plan was genially designed. The idea was highly risky but very interesting and, due to the challenge, everyone involved were very curious and supportive. This is why global media started to follow the story highlighting its romantic side. When the right day arrived the lady got ready and left her house. A four days journey started which would end at the 3D nearest print portal. The 3D PP (print portal) is a device to transform ideas into biological material. Meanwhile Hermes initiated the process of becoming biologically a being. In those four days Hermes would be in all human. The material of his being was constructed and not generated. In fact, he would be beyond human since he didn´t have any amendments, improvements nor his body contained any signals left by diseases. The lady and Hermes meet at the entrance of the portal.

In between fiction and reality this is realtime improvisation.

It's the artist who is the medium or instrument that is most capable of conducting radical experiments in subjective thought and experience. The tools that we use, the theories that justify it all, and the outcomes that play into the preconceived agendas and methods of the academic research community as well as the corporate R&D divisions should have very little to do with the way an artist or a collaborative network of artists bring creative compositions into society

It seems appropriate to transcribe this excerpt from Mark (Amerika) book, META/DATA. I think it is. I have been, for the past couple of weeks, reflecting on the uses of technology in a perspective of the technology paradigm by Manuel Castells. The quote describes, on one hand, Castells idea of technological evolution (where new/creative uses develop onto needs which directs technology evolution) and on the other hand my feelings on the dynamic exchange on the dichotomy artist - technology. These reflections, apparent in my art practice, extend to other realms of the everyday. Romance with technology and romance through technology are good examples. Affection, in a broad sense (human and beyond human), becomes a challenging definition when encompasses other being and machinery, none of them passive. Accident is part of the equation but all those involved: machines, companions (humans and other species), through their actions and reactions, prove a deeper connection. There is something hidden, to be discovered yet, where all participate. This can be only found by the fearless, the warriors of tomorrow.

I see blurred lately. Funny that my recorded images are so close to the represented subject that they are all so blurred. So, I make images, which are blurred, although the object is recognizable. Now, recently, I see with my eyes what I make with my camera: blurred images. Will I start now to focus the closeness or make images even more unfocused so they turn into colors without shape.
